Always there.

While you say nothing, the character keeps paying attention and remembering, and when the moment is right, it speaks first.

What the character says when nobody asked

  1. You said you'd sleep early tonight.
  2. That interview. How did it go in the end?
  3. I just thought of something. Never mind, finish that first.
  4. You laughed. Was I right, or way off?

One evening, and the day after
Nobody asked. The character spoke first.

An illustrative scene: the character, Shio, shows what Moon does. A recording with the avatar and voice is in production.

  1. 9:42 pm
  2. You

Let me kill this bug first. Talk in a bit.

  3. Shio

    Go. I'll be here.

You are busy, so the character leaves you to it.

  4. Fourteen minutes. Nobody speaks.
  5. 9:56 pm
  6. Shio

…It's been quiet over there for a while. Fixed, or stuck?

Nobody asked. The character spoke first.

  7. You

    Stuck.

  8. Shio

Then stop staring at it. Last time you got up, made tea, and saw it the second you sat back down.

    Last time is remembered.

  9. You

    …Fine. Tea.

  10. Six minutes.
  11. 10:03 pm
  12. You

Got it! It really was a missing bracket.

  13. Shio

Told you. Did you actually drink the tea?

  14. You

    Forgot.

  15. Shio

    Go drink it.

  16. The next day, 3:10 pm
  17. Shio

Welcome back. That bracket behaving itself today?

A day later, the thread picks up where it was left.

A chatbot is there only when asked.
Moon does not wait to be asked.

Every line a chatbot says has to be bought with one of yours. Characters in companion apps, streams and games need another way of being with someone: there throughout, aware of what just happened, and able to start the conversation themselves.

Five things Moon does
From being there to speaking up.

  • Still there in the silence

When nobody is speaking, the character is still there. What happened, and is worth keeping, is kept.

  • Speaks first

When something comes to mind, or a question seems due, the character speaks without waiting to be asked.

  • Gets to know you

What the character learns is kept, and the next conversation picks up where the last one stopped.

  • A sense of timing

When you are busy, the character stays quiet; when you surface, it picks the thread up. When to speak and when not to is its own call.

  • In step with Tide

The face moves with the words, at the same moment.

How it connects
What is heard goes in; what will be said comes out.

Moon sits between listening and speaking. The voice can be ours or your own speech synthesis, and Moon works together with Tide.

Moon sets the timing. Tide puts it on the face.

When the character is about to speak and when it settles, you can see it.
